Mineral & premixes/Beef cattle

Lactating cows, dry cows, young cattle or beef cattle – they all have their own mineral and vitamin requirements. The needs of the different types of cattle change according to the season, type of soil, composition of the silage, etc. For healthy and vital cattle, it is important to match the feed to the needs and situation of the animal. TROMP creates mineral mixes and premixes based on your demand and the needs of the herd. You can also contact us for standard mixes which you can adjust yourself.

Tromp beef cattle special

Mineral & premixes/Horses

To stay healthy, horses need the right amount of minerals, trace elements and vitamins. Due to the season, the weather or incorrect manuring, roughage and concentrates often contain insufficient or incorrect proportions of minerals, trace elements and vitamins. For healthy horses with a good metabolism, it is important to fortify the feed with these elements and vitamins. Extra attention to the right proportions is crucial here. For example, the horse might develop a calcium deficiency if the ratio of phosphorus to calcium in the diet is incorrect.

Pregnant mares
TROMP equine mix is also suitable for pregnant mares, although in a different dosage. The mixture ensures that the unborn foal grows sufficiently and that the pregnant mare’s milk production gets off to a good start. The mixture can be adjusted according to need, demand or situation.

Mineral & premixes/Sheep

The need for copper differs per breed of sheep
Copper, cobalt and selenium in particular contribute to good health in sheep. Ewes also need extra selenium and vitamin E for fertility. Sheep use copper for the formation of red blood cells, blood vessels, pigment, coat and bones. Nevertheless, caution is called for here. In Texel sheep or crosses with this breed, too much copper can lead to poisoning, whereas some English breeds of sheep and milking sheep need more copper.
The latter also applies to goats.

Lambs lag behind in growth due to cobalt deficiency
Cobalt is converted into cobalamin, the precursor of vitamin B12, in a sheep’s rumen. B12 is needed for fast-growing tissue. Therefore, lambs may lag behind in growth if they have a cobalt deficiency.

Selenium plays a role in fertility
The trace element selenium is good for the fertility of sheep and goats. It is also important for building immunity and udder health.

Tromp sheep mix

Tromp Sheep Mix is a standard premix for sheep. Sheep and goats are sensitive to too much or too little minerals. Moreover, every breed has its own needs. This premix is an excellent base that we can adjust to your needs.
