Origin and checks Acid Buff is mined in Iceland and Ireland. The license to mine carbonated algae lime is subject to strict rules. These include agreements on the size of the area and the minimum and maximum depth at which mining is permitted. The Icelandic government monitors the extraction and compliance with the rules, as does the supplier of Acid Buff, who has checks carried out by an external company. The soil effects of algae lime extraction are also being investigated.

Ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) is used in cattle to prevent crystal stones. It is an ammonium salt of hydrogen chloride. It is also known as salmiak ammonium salt. It is a white crystalline powder that is very soluble in water.

Function of ammonium chloride Ammonium chloride creates an acidity level that prevents the formation of crystal stones. Crystal stones form when minerals are present in large quantities in the urine. They can clump together in the kidneys or bladder to form crystal stones. These stones make it difficult to eliminate urine. If the urinary tract becomes blocked, even the bladder or the penis may rupture, causing the urine to flow into the lower abdomen. The meat can then no longer be used for consumption.

Diamond V “XP” LS is a fermentation product developed specifically for animal feed from the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It consists of the yeast itself, the culture medium on which the yeast grows, and the metabolic products (metabolites) that the yeast produces. The metabolites stimulate the growth of certain types of bacteria. Diamond V “XP” LS improves digestion and thus increases feed efficiency.

Diamond V “XP” LSis used in case of convenience feed with little structure, feed rich in starch and/or sugar, feed changes, rumen acidification (occurs in 60% of the Dutch livestock population), transition periods, heat stress, undigested particles in the manure (poor absorption), a lot of roughage in the ration.
